Steve Kerr

The man who took the role of the beloved Mark Jackson. Jackson had taken the Warriors to back to back playoff trips and was fired after the 2014 playoff exit against the Los Angeles Clippers. Warriors fans were all shocked to hear the news and worst of all it seemed to upset Stephen Curry. It was then reported that Steve Kerr was the Warriors top choice for the head coach position. Kerr was deciding between the New York Knicks or the Golden State Warriors. He ultimately chose the potential the Warriors had to offer over being reunited with his old coach Phil Jackson.

Steve Kerr has been the Warriors head coach since the start of the 2014/15 season. He has reached the NBA finals in his first two seasons with the Warriors. Kerr has set records such as having the most wins as a rookie coach and also for having the most wins in an NBA season with 73. Currently, Kerr is in the middle of his third season and has already clinched his third straight trip to the playoffs. Kerr has been nothing short of brilliant since being with the Warriors. Kerr made Draymond Green a starter and created the “death lineup” that causes havoc because of offensive versatility and defensive flexibility that allows the Warriors to switch seamlessly with each pick and roll. Even though Steve Kerr has only been with the Warriors for three seasons the team and fans alike are hoping that he will be in charge for many years to come.
