San Antonio Spurs

Every Warriors fan was rooting for the Houston Rockets in their series against the San Antonio Spurs because they were a more favorable match up. The Spurs somehow managed to prevail in six games and they won the closeout game without point guard Tony Parker and their superstar Kawhi Leonard. Historically the Spurs have dominated the Warriors and have made their lives miserable. It came as no surprise that in game 1 of this series the Spurs almost stole the home court advantage from the Warriors.

The Spurs were so dominant that at one point they held a 25 point lead and went into halftime leading by 20 points. In the third quarter they responded to each of Curry’s three pointers with one of their own. The momentum shifted when Leonard tweaked his left ankle and had to exit the game. From that moment the Warriors outscored the Spurs 58-33 to comeback and win the game with a final score of 113-11. The comeback will surely increase the Warriors confidence but they cannot count on Kawhi Leonard being out this entire series. Game 2 will be on Tuesday and the Warriors will be hoping to defend their home court advantage and take a commanding 2-0 lead in the series.
